If your TVIP remote is not working, check whether all buttons fail or only the TV-control buttons. Those symptoms can involve different parts of the remote.
TVIP remote not working: first checks
- Fit known good batteries with the correct polarity.
- Clear the line of sight between an infrared remote and the box.
- Check that the box itself has power and has not frozen.
- Restart the box normally, then test navigation close to it.
IR and Bluetooth models
Some TVIP remotes support both infrared and Bluetooth. Bluetooth pairing requires a compatible media player. Follow the manufacturer’s procedure for the exact remote and box; do not assume every remote can pair wirelessly.
Only TV power or volume fails
The learning buttons used to control a television are separate from normal box navigation. They may need to learn the TV remote’s commands again. Use TVIP’s instructions for the learning section.
When replacement is appropriate
If a compatible spare remote works, the original may need replacement. If neither works, investigate the box or receiver. A factory reset is a broad change and is rarely the first useful test for dead batteries or a blocked infrared path.
