MAG box setup depends on the model and the account format your provider supports. These instructions cover Linux MAG devices with an embedded portal; an Android-based MAG model can use a different app-based process.
Before your MAG box setup
- Connect the box to the TV and select the correct HDMI input.
- Connect Ethernet or supported Wi-Fi and confirm that the box has network access.
- Ask your provider for the exact portal URL and whether your device identifier needs registration.
Add the portal
- Open Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals in the embedded portal.
- Give the portal a recognisable name and enter the supplied address exactly.
- Save the settings, restart the portal and choose the new entry if a selection screen appears.
- Allow the channel list to load, then test picture, sound and the programme guide.
A billing website URL is not a streaming portal. Do not replace a working address simply because the billing site moved.
If the portal will not load
Check the URL, network connection, subscription status and registered device identifier. Keep the previous portal details until testing is complete. See MAG box troubleshooting for symptom-based checks.
